MTA worker assaulted at NYC subway station; suspect on the loose

Police are searching for the suspect who allegedly assaulted an MTA worker in Midtown Manhattan last month.

When did the attack happen?

What we know:

The attack happened on Friday, Jan. 17 at approximately 7 p.m. in the mezzanine at the 34th Street-Herald Square subway station, police said. 

Police said the suspect punched a 44-year-old MTA worker in the face before leaving the station.

The MTA worker suffered minor injuries and was taken to NYC Health and Hospitals/ Bellevue by EMS in stable condition, police said. 

What we don't know:

The motive behind the assault is unclear.

The names of the suspect and the MTA employee have not yet been released.
