Firefighters and police rushed to Penn Station Friday night after reports of a man on fire.

Police say around 8 p.m. they found a 67-year-old man near the 1, 2, 3 subway lines, nearly covered in flames.

The area around tracks 11 and 12 was blocked off as NYPD, FDNY and Transit police crews responded to the scene.

The man was taken to a nearby hospital, suffering burns to both his legs and upper body.

The cause of the fire remains unclear, and it is unknown whether there was any criminal involvement. The investigation is ongoing.

Man accused of setting woman on fire in NYC subway faces multiple counts of murder

Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez says officials are still looking into surveillance footage in order to identify the woman who burned to death.

This incident comes less than a week after a woman was set on fire while sleeping aboard an F train in Coney Island on Sunday.

Police say Sebastian Zapeta-Calil, accused of setting the woman on fire, calmly approached her as the train reached the end of the line, using a lighter to ignite her clothing. The woman’s clothes "became fully engulfed in a matter of seconds."

Zapeta-Calil faces charges of first-degree murder, three counts of second-degree murder, and arson.
