NEW JERSEY - An alleged carjacker was killed in a shoot-out with police Thursday night on the Garden State Parkway in Woodbridge, New Jersey, according to the Attorney General’s Office.
The AG's office released a statement saying that they are investigating the fatal police-involved shooting.
According to the investigation, Cranford Police were allegedly chasing a stolen vehicle that crashed near the southbound exit on the Garden State Parkway.
During the pursuit, two officers and the driver of the stolen vehicle exchanged gunfire.
A Cranford police officer was shot but was treated and released from the hospital.
The driver was also shot but was pronounced dead at the scene.
No further details have been provided.
The investigation is ongoing and the man's identity is not being released at this time.

In a tweet, the governor said, "A Cranford police officer was shot last night with non-life threatening injuries on the Garden State Parkway.Our men and women in uniform put their lives on the line every day to keep us safe. We are praying for the officer’s swift recovery."
Video from the scene shows a heavy police presence and what appears to be a wreck near a guardrail.
New Jersey's state police union offered words of support for the officer.
"These officers confronted a violent criminal and were shot at. One officer was wounded, but thank God he will make a full recovery. Keep the officers, Crawford PD, their families in your prayers," the NJ State PBA tweeted.
