Armed cops in East Brunswick schools

In an effort to increase the safety of its students and staff, the East Brunswick, N.J., school board voted to add armed guards to its schools. Active duty police officers will support the 71 unarmed retired cops currently in place in all 11 of East Brunswick's elementary and high schools. The school cops will be active duty police who will pick up overtime shifts.
