NYC, MTA storm-resiliency projects

The MTA has devoted $7.6 billion to flood-prevention measures. Now, five years after Superstorm Sandy, the agency has either begun or completed construction on 85 percent of those projects. MTA Chairman Joe Lhota demonstrated some of the features on Friday. In the meantime, elected leaders and representatives from NYCHA gathered in Far Rockaway to celebrate the start of $123 million in construction at the Redfern Houses.
