Aftermath of shooting at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital

Last Friday, June 30, Dr. Henry Bello opened fire at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital, killing a doctor and injuring six other people. Bello, a former employee, was forced to resign in 2015 amid sexual harassment allegations. The assault rifle he used in this deadly rampage was legally purchased at a gun store in upstate New York. Nurse Donna Lee Peterkin was working on the 16th floor at the time of the attack. She said that "craziness" is not unknown to the staff because they deal with a lot every day. But this incident was different from anything else in her 25 years at the hospital.
