Sewage spill closes shellfishing in Port Jefferson

A sewage spill on Long Island has led to environmental warnings and a shellfish ban in Port Jefferson Harbor. Officials say more than 30,000 gallons of partially treated sewage were discharged into the harbor due to a UV disinfection system malfunction at the Port Jefferson Sewage Treatment Plant.
