Graffiti mural at hip-hop’s birthplace sparks city crackdown

A legal fight is brewing in the Bronx over a graffiti mural honoring the birthplace of hip-hop. City officials say the mural at 1520 Sedgwick Avenue, widely regarded as where hip-hop began, violates building code because it promotes a commercial website tied to the artwork.
