NYC unveils new flood protection gates
New York City is taking major steps to prevent flooding with nearly 100 new flip-up gates designed to protect Lower Manhattan from storm surges. Part of the Brooklyn Bridge Montgomery Coastal Resiliency project, the $300.5 million system will shield over 150,000 residents from severe weather events like Superstorm Sandy.
