Staten Island battery storage facility faces opposition

Staten Island residents are voicing concerns over plans for a lithium-ion battery storage facility in their neighborhood, citing fire risks and safety hazards. The company behind the project, NineDot Energy, insists it is complying with FDNY regulations, but local officials say the borough has already taken on too many of these facilities.
