How NYC is helping foster youth avoid homelessness
What happens when foster youth age out of the system? For many, it means an uncertain future, but thanks to a new NYC program, that’s beginning to change. FOX 5’s Jessica Formoso introduces us to Jasmine Rodriguez, a 22-year-old who entered foster care at age 7. After years of moving from home to home, she faced the possibility of homelessness while pregnant. That’s when Anthos Home, a nonprofit dedicated to helping NYC residents with housing vouchers, stepped in. Now, Jasmine is one of over 100 young adults who have secured permanent, affordable housing through a partnership between NYC’s Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) and Anthos Home.
