It has been 10 years since the Ice Bucket Challenge became a viral sensation! It was co-founded by Yonkers native Pat Quinn who was diagnosed with ALS in March of 2013. Pat Quinn passed away in 2020, but his spirit and the awareness campaign live on, breaking fundraising records for the ALS research. ALS United Greater New York CEO Kristen Cocoman talks about the progress that has been made in the last decade. Also, businesses are facing many challenges in our communities. High crime rates! Inadequate infrastructure! In East Brooklyn, there is an effort to overcome these challenges! William Wilkins, Executive Director of the East Brooklyn Business Improvement District talks about the efforts. And, a crisis taking place within our BIPOC communities!
