Suspect in Lee Zeldin attack facing federal assault charge

David Jakubonis, 43, is now facing a federal assault charge after allegedly attacking New York GOP gubernatorial candidate Lee Zeldin during a recent campaign rally. Jakubonis apparently told investigators he’d been drinking that day and didn’t know who the congressman was.
