Yonkers cop shot
A police officer in Yonkers, New York, was shot Monday evening. The shooting happened in the area of Marshal Road and Ridge Drive around 8 p.m. when the officer responded to a call of a suspicious car. As she approached the car, gunmen opened fire on her, police said. The officer was hit in the face, the police commissioner said. She was taken to Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx to be treated for the gunshot wound to her jaw.
