Yonkers mayor slams NYC about influx of homeless

The mayor of Yonkers says his financially strapped city has its own issue with homelessness so he wants to know why New York is sending its homeless here. The Special One Time Assistance Program, or SOTA, gives homeless individuals and families one year's rent to relocate anywhere in the United States.

Emmet is just one of 169-permanent residents of  Elizabeth Seton Children's, a long-term care facility  in Yonkers,  New York. McNamara said “ We are also working on making her breathing muscles stronger so she can cough better and not get Pneumonia in the winter.

The revitalization of New York's fourth-largest city is underway. Yonkers, located in Westchester County along the majestic Hudson River, has a lot of love.

Yonkers cop shot

A police officer in Yonkers, New York, was shot Monday evening. The shooting happened in the area of Marshal Road and Ridge Drive around 8 p.m. when the officer responded to a call of a suspicious car. As she approached the car, gunmen opened fire on her, police said. The officer was hit in the face, the police commissioner said. She was taken to Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx to be treated for the gunshot wound to her jaw.
