The newly restored Cort Theatre on Broadway has been renamed after James Earl Jones, becoming the second Broadway theater named after a Black artist. Jones, 91, did not attend Monday's ceremony.

Without "Hair," there would be no "Rent." — James Rado, co-creator of the groundbreaking musical "Hair," has died. He was 90. "Hair" was Broadway's first rock musical, the first Broadway show to have full nudity, and the first to feature a same-sex kiss.
