NEW YORK (FOX 5 NY) - Police in New York were looking for a man who attacked a woman as she left a subway station, breaking her nose when he punched her in the face.
The NYPD says it happened around 7:15 p.m. on March 21 at the Church and Nostrand Ave. subway station in Brooklyn.
Investigators say the victim, a 52-year-old woman, had intervened when the man was harassing women in the number 2 and 5 line in the subway station.
He left the station but waited at the top of the stairs. Surveillance video showed him confront the woman and then punch her in the face as she was trying to leave.
The man then ran off.
The person wanted for questioning is described as black, 20-30 years old, with shoulder length braids. He was last seen wearing a white hooded shirt and dark pants.
Anyone with information in is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477). Police say that all calls are confidential.
