2 dead after house fire in New Jersey

WEST ORANGE, N.J. - Two people are dead after a house fire in West Orange, New Jersey Tuesday morning. 

Officials responded to the fire on Northfield Avenue just after midnight.

Arriving units found heavy flames in the basement of a three-story home.

Search crews removed one man and one woman who were pronounced dead at the hospital. 

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
