NEW YORK - The first major winter storm of 2025 has made its way to the East Coast, but will it impact New York City on the second day of congestion pricing?

"We're going to see snow overspread the region. It's going to be light snow for the most part," FOX 5 NY's Audrey Puente said.
Accumulating snow mostly ended Monday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.
The National Weather Service said most roads will remain wet, but a few may briefly become snow-covered.
Temperatures remain below freezing across the area, so any untreated surfaces may become icy and slick into the evening commute, according to the National Weather Service.

Winter weather warnings, advisories
The National Weather Service issued winter weather warnings and advisories for portions of New Jersey.

Purple shades were under winter storm warnings, while blue shades were under wither weather advisories.
How much snow are we getting today?
The FOX Forecast Center said the storm was expected to hit southern portions of New Jersey throughout the day and wind down on Monday night.

"I anticipate higher snowfall totals to the south of us, like across southern New Jersey and heading further south to the mid-Atlantic," Puente said.

When is it going to snow in NYC?
Though snow is possible for the Big Apple, it will be on the lighter side, the National Weather Service said.

"Light snow is possible late Monday morning and into the afternoon, mainly for northeast NJ, NYC, and Long Island," the agency said in a post on 'X'. "While this one model representation of the snow covers much of the area, it's very possible the snow stays south and not much snow falls at all."
How much will it snow in NYC?
According to the agency, light snow is possible, mainly before 4 p.m. The chance of precipitation is 80%. Minimal accumulations are expected.
