NYC weather forecast

FOX 5 NY's Mike Woods has the details.

Are you hoping for more snow this week in New York City?

Residents across the Tri-State area woke up on Saturday to snow on the ground. It wasn't much, but some areas in New Jersey saw over an inch.

It begs the question: When will it snow again in New York City? This week, this weekend or not at all?

When is it going to snow?

What we know:

Sorry snow lovers, the workweek in New York City will likely be a dry one. The weekend, on the other hand, has some potential.

According to the National Weather Service, the NYC-area has a chance of rain and snow on Sunday. The chance of precipitation is 30%. A map from the agency's website shows rain around 7 a.m., but a mix by 1 p.m.

What they're saying:

"A fresh Arctic blast is set to encompass much of the eastern half of the U.S. through the middle of next week before milder temperatures briefly return by week's end. A more significant shot of Arctic air then follows next weekend into the following week," the NOAA NWS Weather Prediction Center said in a Sunday post on Facebook.

"The weekend we have rain both Saturday and Sunday," FOX 5 NY's Mike Woods said. "Sunday looks like not only rain, but a rain, snow mix possible coming through."
