NEW YORK (FOX5NY.COM) - Balazs Bercsenyi is the newest tattoo artist in residence at the W New York Times Square, which liked his work and asked him to join its new program.
In New York City from Hungary less than two years, he has a months-long waiting list at Bang Bang, SoHo's hippest tattoo parlor. Rihanna is a regular.
But if you're a hotel guest, his services are just a phone call away. It all goes down in the W's Wow Suite.
Balazs specializes in fine lines and geometric design. And while his tattoos are so realistic they look more like photographs, he calls his style abstract surrealism. His clients call it "amazing."
Shula found him on Instagram. This is her second tattoo by Balazs. The first was an image of the universe. This time she is getting a series of horses inspired by a print by famous photographer Edward Maybridge.
Don't worry--Balazs sports plenty of his own tattoos so he understands pain. Balazs insists he is gentle.
Here is how it works. You either send an email or call the concierge and tell them you'd like an appointment with the tattoo artist. You have a consultation and once things are just right, you go for it.
The cost is $500 to $1,600.
But for Shula that is a small price to pay for a permanent work of art that she considers priceless.
