Video of Prospect Park rape suspect
NEW YORK (FOX 5 NY) - New video from a security camera shows the man police say attempted to rape a woman inside Prospect Park in Brooklyn last month.
The 23-year-old woman told cops that a man came up from behind, threw her to the ground, pulled out a knife, and threatened to rape her, police said. She struggled with the man and was cut on her right index finger before the man then fled.
She was treated at Methodist Hospital, police said.
The attack happened April 20 inside the park near Garfield Place and Prospect Park West at about 5:15 a.m.
Later in the day, police officers and detectives were seen examining the area for evidence.
The suspect is described by police as black, 5'10"- 6' tall and about 180 lbs. -190 lbs. He has short hair and wears a goatee.
He was last wearing a black T-shirt and black pants with white lettering on one pant leg and black sneakers with white bottoms.
