NEW YORK (FOX 5 NY) - Actor Joseph Fiennes will play the late pop legend Michael Jackson in a new TV movie, but that casting call isn't sitting well with many fans.
The uproar is over Fiennes being a British white actor while Jackson was African American.
Also, there is the issue of the unusual backdrop for the film: Jackson, and screen legends Elizabeth Taylor and Marlon Brando rent a car and road-trip from New York City to Los Angeles on Sept. 11, 2001.
The story goes that Jackson invited them to his concert at Madison Square Garden. But after the terror attacks, the group returns home by car.
The drive takes them extra-long because of Brando's need to stop frequently at KFC and Burger King.
Twitter has been abuzz with criticism of the comedy, 'Elizabeth, Michael and Marlon.'
The movie is expected to air on British network Sky Arts later this year.
