United Airlines flight evacuated before takeoff at Newark
A flight headed for Honolulu was evacuated at Newark Liberty International Airport.
At about 9 a.m. Sunday morning, the United Airlines flight was aborted while preparing for takeoff due to unusually hot brakes, according to officials.
An aircraft rescue unit arrived on scene to spray down the brakes and was under control by 9:30 a.m.
The incident happened at the runoff area and did not affect airport operations.
Passengers and crew were taken to Terminal C via bus.
No injuries were reported.
The flight was eventually rescheduled for a later time on Sunday.
