Two passengers in an Uber ride share car were wounded during a midday shooting on a busy Dallas street.

Police say witnesses told them that the driver of a white Chevy Malibu fired more than dozen shots at the people in a dark-colored Nissan Cube near the intersection of Northwest Highway and Loop 12 in northwest Dallas around noon Tuesday.

The driver of the Nissan Cube says that the Chevy Malibu pulled up beside them in traffic and started shooting.  The Cube driver pulled into a nearby gas station and ran into the store with his two passengers.

Police say the Chevy Malibu driver circled the store several times and then fired at the empty Nissan cube.  In the process, the gun managed to hit two passing vehicles, including  a white Mercedes which was being driven as an Uber at the time, with two passengers inside.  Both of those passengers were hit and went to the hospital for treatment.

Witnesses reported hearing 14-16 shots during the incident.

Police do not have a description of the shooter or the license number of the Chevy Malibu.
