U.S. Open Preview: Tiger Woods returns seeking redemption

Tiger Woods knows about U.S. Open championships. He has played in 20 and won three titles: in 2000 2002, 2008. But he hasn't played in the Open since 2015 due to injury and multiple surgeries.

Woods was on the practice range at 6:15 a.m. on Tuesday, preparing himself to join a field of 156 golfers at Shinnecock Hills for the 118th U.S. Open, a tournament many golfers say is the toughest major to play.

Two days before the first round, the best in the world were practicing at the crack of dawn. Dustin Johnson, Rory McElroy, Bubba Watson, and Ernie Els were among them.

But who will come out on top?

New York loves a winner, which always makes for a unique atmosphere, even for FOX Sports play-by-play voice Joe Buck.

Fans can get into the game, too, putting, in a simulator, virtual tours or buying merchandise.
