Two neighbors found murdered days apart in Brooklyn

New York City police detectives are investigating if the murders of two next-door neighbors in a Brooklyn building are connected. The killings took place inside the Bushwick Houses at 140 Moore Street.

In the most recent case, Basil Gray, 54, was found with multiple gunshot wounds. He was dead inside his apartment when police arrived about 4:30 p.m. on Sunday.

That killing took place two days after his next-door neighbor, Ana Devalle, 62, was found bound and shot in the head inside her fifth-floor apartment. Police had gone into her apartment about 6:45 p.m. on Friday.

Fox 5 News reported that similar forensic evidence was found in both apartments. People who live in the building say police have been going door-to-door to interview residents to see if they have any information that might help in the investigation.

The NYPD has not made any arrests and has not released any information on a possible suspect in either killing.
