Trump campaign launches legal blitz in battleground states

The Trump campaign has launched a flurry of lawsuits to challenge the integrity of the 2020 election.

President Donald Trump is vowing to ask the Supreme Court to weigh in on the inconclusive election. The Associated Press has not declared a winner in the presidential race.

Trump appeared before supporters at the White House early Wednesday morning and cried foul over the election results, calling the process "A major fraud on our nation." but there's no evidence of foul play in the cliffhanger.

The night ended with hundreds of thousands of votes still to be counted, and the outcome still unclear in key states he needs if he is to win against Democrat Joe Biden.

Trump speaks from White House

President Donald Trump says his administration will ask the US Supreme Court to stop the counting of ballots.

Nevertheless, he has cast the night as a disenfranchisement of his voters. He said: "We will win this and as far as I'm concerned we already have won it."

Trump says: "We'll be going to the U.S. Supreme court -- we want all voting to stop." in fact, there is no more voting -- just counting.

Lawyer says Trump legal fight won’t work

Constitutional expert Floyd Abrams says President's Trump plan to ask the US Supreme Court to intervene in the presidential election must first go through the lower courts.

"I can't think about a claim that he could make," said constitutional attorney Floyd Abrams during FOX 5 NY morning program, Good Day NY. "First of all, you just don't go to the Supreme Court. You have to start at the lower courts. I can't imagine any claim they could make, the thrust of which is stop counting. A baseball game sometimes has extra innings. You can't just, even by presidential decree, stop it. I really don't think this is a credible threat."
