Travis Scott arrested in Paris after alleged hotel security fight

Rapper Travis Scott was arrested after an alleged altercation with a security guard at a Paris hotel.

The arrest happened after authorities arrived at the Georges V hotel early Friday to arrest a man "nicknamed Travis Scott for violence against a security guard," the Associated Press reported, citing a statement from the Paris public prosecutor's office.

A hotel security guard intervened in a dispute between Scott and his own bodyguard as police are investigating the incident. 

A representative for Scott, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, told the Associated Press they were "in direct communication with the local Parisian authorities to swiftly resolve this matter and will provide updates when appropriate." 

Scott, whose real name is Jacques Webster, was in Paris for the Olympics as the rapper watched Team USA comeback to beat Serbia in the men’s basketball semifinal on Thursday night.

The rapper is one of the biggest names in hip hop with over 100 songs that made the Billboard Hot 100 and released four singles that topped the chart: "Sicko Mode," "Highest in the Room," "The Scotts," and "Franchise."
