Tornado in New Jersey

At least one tornado touched down in Gloucester County, N.J. Several people shared dramatic videos of the funnel cloud and the damage. (Source videos via Storyful)

Tropical Rainstorm Ida caused damage across New Jersey as it raced north through the state, bringing tornadoes, flooding, and heavy rain. Some areas are seeing up to 8 inches of rain from the former hurricane.

A confirmed "large and extremely dangerous" tornado was seen over Willow Grove, Pennsylvania, and Woodbury, New Jersey. The National Weather Service said that shortly after 7 p.m. a tornado was spotted in the Burlington area of New Jersey getting ready to cross into southern Bucks County, Pennsylvania. 

A "devastating tornado" hit the Mullica Hill community in Gloucester County, New Jersey. Gov. Phil Murphy tweeted: "We're closely monitoring the situation and will do whatever is needed to support the response & recovery in the days ahead." He later declared a state of emergency in the entire state.

User @nazlizeynepn posted some video of flooding on a highway in Edison, New Jersey.

A reporter who covers the Philadelphia Eagles posted a photo of the damage in Mullica Hill as night fell.

Twitter user @jjbowen89 posted this video of what the user described as a tornado on the ground in Mullica Hill, New Jersey.

User @Steveroth21 shoed a home in Mullica Hill that appeared to be ripped apart.

User @jimmydssugarbby said that a possible tornado passed through Wenonah, New Jersey.  They showed video of trees down outside of their home.

The Neptune Township Police Department in New Jersey warned that downed power lines had forced the closure of Green Grove Rd. between RT 66 and Jumping Brook Road.
