'Tan Mom' is suing a NJ school district
NEW JERSEY (FOX5NY) - Patricia Krentcil, the New Jersey woman who gained notoriety in 2012 as 'tan mom' for her tanning salon addiction and for allegations she brought her young daughter into a tanning bed with her, wants to sue the Nutley School District.
According to the NY Post, Krentcil, 49, is preparing a lawsuit because her 11-year-old daughter returned home from outdoor recess last month with a severe sunburn.
“She was totally burned. I packed her [sunscreen] and she came home like a french fry," Krentcil told the Post.
It was a nurse at Lincoln Elementary School in Nutley who called police on Krentcil in 2012, after Anna- then five years old- told the nurse she went to tanning beds with her mom.
Krentcil vehemently denied the allegations saying her daughter accompanied her to the salons but never used a bed.
New Jersey state law prohibits anyone under 14 from using tanning salons. 'Tan Mom' as she was dubbed by the media was never charged.
“ I still have nightmares. I did nothing wrong," Krentcil, a mother of five children, told the Post.
