Street League Skateboarding preview with Manny Santiago

NEW JERSEY - Pro skateboarder Manny Santiago is gearing up to compete in the Street League Skateboarding Nike SB World Tour Sunday, Aug. 23, 2015, at Prudential Center in Newark. But first, we're catching up with the Ecko- and Rockstar-sponsored skater as he rides the ramps at Hoboken's Castle Point Skatepark. 

This weekend's competition will be high-stakes for Manny, since he needs to make finals in order to move on to the Super Crown, which Santiago characterizes as "the World Series of Street League."

As for what it takes to be a pro skateboarder, Manny highlights qualities including focus, determination and, of course, skill. 

Speaking of skill, I had never been able to stand on a skateboard so I challenged Manny to teach me to skate in five minutes. And, yes, we succeeded!
