Bangor, Maine -- Strangers came to the rescue who a little Maine girl's beloved wagon was stolen from her backyard.
Four year old Makayla found out her wagon was missing so her mom filed a police report.
The Bangor Police Department detailed the incident on Facebook hoping the thief would return it.
That didn't happen but there was an outpouring of support from people all over the country who wanted to replace it.
A girl named Izzy and her father showed up to the police station with cash to buy one so officers went to the story to buy a new one. In a twist, Walmart gave police a wagon for free.
Sgt. Tim Cotton, Bangor Police Department, says: "It's kinda sad that someone would take a wagon in the first place. It obviously upset a lot of people."
Police sued the donation from Izzy and her dad to also get Makayla a Walmart gift card. Her family is overwhelmed by the community's outpouring of support.
