STOCKTON, Calif. (KTVU) - A Stockton woman and her family are spooked after startling home surveillance video revealed that a neighbor poured fuel all over her front doorstep and tried to set it on fire in the middle of the night.
The woman, who spoke to Fox 40 but did not want to be identified, said her doorbell camera at her home on Dominion Drive captured the man’s failed attempt around 2:30 a.m. Thursday.
Video shows the neighbor, identified as 38-year-old Cuong Pham, pouring a considerable amount of liquid from what looked like a yellow gas can. He then tries to light it on fire, but it doesn’t ignite.
After fire officials and police arrived, investigators determined Pham poured approximately two gallons of diesel fuel. Officials said it would have been fatal had fuel ignited.
There was two kids home, ages three and ten, along with a few adults. According to the family, this isn’t the first time the neighbor has been recorded while on the property. Just a week ago, he was seen ringing the family’s doorbell “like crazy” while hitting his head and pacing about, according to Fox 40.
Pham was arrested for attempted homicide and arson charges.
