St. Lucia official: Measles prompts quarantine of cruise ship, possibly owned by Scientology

Health officials in St. Lucia say they've quarantined a cruise ship after someone on board was diagnosed with measles.

Based on marine traffic logs, the ship in question appears to be the Church of Scientology-owned and operated vessel named Freewinds.

The 300 travelers and crew weren't allowed off after officials were alerted Tuesday morning.

Officials say, since measles is highly contagious, it's likely more than one person on board was exposed.

FOX 13 News reached out to the Church of Scientology but hasn’t received a response.
