Small track fire at Astor Place causes train delays
NEW YORK (FOX 5 NY) - A small track fire at the Astor Place train station has caused delays on the 4, 5, and 6 trains, said the MTA.
FDNY responded to a call about trash fire on the tracks of the southbound Astor Place station, according to officials.
As a result, 4, 5, and 6 trains were running local between 14th Street- Union Square and Brooklyn Bridge while northbound 4 and 5 trains terminated at Wall Street.
At 3:30 p.m., the MTA announced that train service has resumed, but with extensive delays.
No injuries were reported.
