Selfie spoon for breakfast photos is a real thing

Cereal maker Cinnamon Toast Crunch has started offering limited edition selfie spoons to people who want to let the world see themselves about to shove a spoonful of cereal into their mouth.

In announcing it on its Facebook page the company said:  "You didn't ask, but we answered."

Response to the post was tepid but a check of the selfiespoon website late Tuesday morning showed none were still available and users were suggested to try again the next day.  It was unclear how many of the spoons the company was distributing a day.

The spoons are free but General Mills, which owns the brand, requires the consumer pay shipping and handling.
