NEW YORK - School closings were reported across the New York metropolitan region due to a nor'easter. Many students were already working remotely because of the coronavirus pandemic.
Although school buildings were closed on Thursday in New York City, students were expected to attend classes remotely. School buildings will reopen on Friday, Mayor Bill de Blasio said.

Fun in the snow in Central Park
The mayor said classes would be held via remote learning. Many parents decided that spending time in the snow in Central Park was a better use of their kids' time.
