Rockefeller Christmas tree coming from Maryland

For the first time, the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree will hail from Maryland.

NEW YORK - For the very first time, this year's Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree will come from the state of Maryland.

The 79-foot tall Norway Spruce will be cut down and transported to New York City next week.

The annual lighting of the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree is scheduled for December 1.
