Rising cellist plays a tribute on social media to express his grief in Dallas
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Cremaine Booker is a rising cellist who hails from Dallas, Texas. The 26-year-old has performed extensively in the southeast region in addition to being a studio cellist.
“With all the recent stuff that has happened in society, it has really taken a toll on me mentally and emotionally,” said Booker. “My heart is hurting and there's nothing I can really say. So since music is the thing I know best, I figured I'd just play.”
Booker took to Facebook to share his grief by playing Adagio for Strings by Samuel Barber.
“My heart is hurting for everyone who has been affected. I have been trying to find ways to process things myself, but the only way I know how is to play my cello. I wish that we could one day come together instead of tearing each other apart, but until then, I'll just keep playing.”
