Rapper Troy Ave released from hospital
NEW YORK (FOX 5 NY) - Rapper Troy Ave was discharged from a Brooklyn hospital Monday after he was shot while sitting in his car with a female passenger on Christmas Day.
Attorney Scott Lemon says his client, whose real name is Roland Collins, was on his way to visit family Sunday evening when he was shot twice.
He was released through the rear exit of Brookdale Hospital.
Police say Collins, 31, was in a red Maserati when a man fired several rounds into the car, striking Collins once in the arm and grazing his head.
No arrests have been made.
“He’s in pain, but he’s grateful. He said to me that he feels blessed that this wasn’t fatal in the end,” Attorney John Stella told the NY Daily News.
The bullets remain logged in Collins' body. Surgery to remove them has not been yet scheduled.
The rapper is free on bail following his May arrest in connection with a deadly shooting inside a popular Manhattan concert venue.
He has pleaded not guilty to attempted murder charges. He also was shot in that incident.
