An NYPD police officer working crowd control at a large funeral for a rabbi in Brooklyn was hit in the face by a drone.

It happened Tuesday afternoon at 54th St. and New Uetrecht Ave. in Borough Park.  As many as 25,000 people were in the streets to honor prominent Hasidic Rabbi Yisroel Avrohom Portugal.   The Holocaust survivor and longtime spiritual leader died Monday.  He was 95 years old.

The officer who was hurt was in the street when a drone somehow lost power and fell, hitting her in the face.  She was taken to Maimondies Hospital with minor injuries.

Yehiel Rosenfeld, 36, of Monsey, NY was arrested in connection with the incident.  Police say he was operating the drone.  He was charged with reckless endangerment, assault and local law violation.  It is illegal to fly a drone in New York City.

Another officer was also hurt in another incident around the same time at the funeral.  That officer had his foot run over by a vehicle in the funeral procession.  He was taken to Lutheran Hospital for treatment of what was called "minor injuries".
