Move over Peach Fuzz, a new color is painting the walls.

Pantone released its 2025 color of the year on Thursday, revealing it as Mocha Mousse (or PANTONE 17-1230).

"For Pantone Color of the Year 2025, we look to a color that reaches into our desire for comfort and wellness, and the indulgence of simple pleasures that we can gift and share with others," Laurie Pressman, the vice president of the Pantone Color Institute, said.

According to the company, Mocha Mousse is an "evocative soft brown that transports our senses into the pleasure and deliciousness it inspires."

Each year, brands work with Pantone to create products in the color of the year. This year’s partners at launch included Motorola, Joybird, Pura, WIx Studio, Libratone, Spoonflower, IPSY, Society6, Ultrafabrics,Capsule 11, Oyuna and Post-it.

For the first time, Pantone said it would also be featuring its color of the year on the London Eye.

Peach Fuzz is out

Last year, the company chose PANTONE 13-1023 Peach Fuzz as its 2024 color.

Pantone began its tradition of choosing a color of the year in 1999 with PANTONE 15-4020 Cerulean Blue.

Each year's selection serves as "an expression of a mood and an attitude on the part of the consumer," according to the company.
