NEW YORK (NEW YORK) - It wasn't a sleigh but a Delta jet that brought Ol' St. Nick to Kennedy Airport Wednesday morning to help make bright the spirits of nearly 4,000 children with special needs.
Community mayors held the annual Operation Santa Christmas party. The program began in 1875. Children with disabilities of varying degrees have been its primary focus since 1957.
Volunteers from multiple law enforcement and community agencies were on hand to help make those memories.
Santa himself summed things up best right after he landed.
