Officer Gets Hotel Room for Homeless Woman on Frigid Night
BROOKHAVEN, Ga. - A Brookhaven police officer went above and beyond the call of duty for a homeless woman over the weekend.
Officers with the Brookhaven Police Department responded to a 911 call regarding the woman Sunday night. According to police, she identified herself as “Gloria.”
Atlanta was greeted with freezing temperatures overnight and the responding officers said Gloria was wearing short sleeves, with no jacket or cold weather gear. What one of the officers did next for Gloria is simply heartwarming.
“Officer B. Fleming enforced common sense and took it upon himself to pay for a room in a Brookhaven hotel to give Ms. Gloria a warm place to sleep for the night.”
Brookhaven Police shared several photos of Officer Fleming escorting Gloria into her hotel for the night.
“These are the types of gestures that makes Officer Fleming an exceptional officer but most importantly….a human being.”
