UPPER EAST SIDE - A NYPD officer was injured Wednesday after they were struck by a car on the Upper East Side, officials said.
It happened just after 4 p.m. on 71st St. and Park Avenue.

According to police, the officer was struck while trying to stop the driver of a black sedan that was driving on the wrong side of the street.
The female driver fled the scene, but was eventually caught and arrested, police said. Charges are pending.
The officer suffered a broken arm and was in stable condition.
