Officer injured by wrong-way diver

The NYPD officer was struck while trying to stop the driver of a black sedan that was driving on the wrong side of the street, police said.

A NYPD officer was injured Wednesday after they were struck by a car on the Upper East Side, officials said.

It happened just after 4 p.m. on 71st St. and Park Avenue.

The female driver fled the scene, but was eventually caught and arrested, police said. Charges are pending.

The officer suffered a broken arm and was in stable condition.
