NYPD cops save scared kitten
NEW YORK (FOX 5 NY) - A woman flagged down two NYPD officers near Ocean Parkway and Sherman Street in the Windsor Terrace section of Brooklyn on Monday because a kitten had darted in road, bringing traffic to a stop. The cat then climbed into the woman's car's wheel well.
Officer Christopher Rinelli and Officer Kenia Marte, assigned to the NYPD Strategic Response Group, were not able to reach the kitten so they used a jack to lift the car, remove the wheel, and pull the kitten to safety, police said.
The feline was cold and wet but otherwise appeared unharmed, the NYPD said. They carefully placed her into a towel to dry her off.
The woman, identified as Geraldine Cassone, said she plans on adopting the kitten, who appeared to be about 2 months old. She has yet to name the lucky post-storm stray.
