NYC woman crashes free-food events (for a good cause)
NEW YORK (FOX 5 NEWS) - If Robin Hood ever needed a culinary companion, Amanda Huang might know where to find a taste test.
She is what you might call a free-food party crasher, hitting open invite events across the city. And it's all for a good cause. Every time she goes to an event she donates $5 to Food Bank for New York City.
She has attended 25 events since the start of the year. She finds most of them online, like the recent unveiling of a mobile phone app. There was a book launch in Manhattan's Flatiron District that served burgers and wings.
We tagged along, crashing a recent Goose Island beer tasting at Michael Jordan's Steakhouse in Grand Central Terminal.
She takes photos all her meals and posts them online before writing a check to the food bank. She is sampling the city flavor, one donation at a time.
