NYC man arrested in death of his girlfriend's 3-year-old son
NEW YORK (AP) - A New York man has been arrested in the death of his girlfriend's 3-year-old son, who was found unconscious and bruised in their apartment.
The Police Department says Kenneth Lynch was arrested late Friday on a manslaughter charge.
It's not immediately clear whether the 36-year-old has a lawyer. No working telephone number could immediately be found for his Bronx apartment.
Police were called there Thursday night. They say the boy, Messiah Allen, was unresponsive and had bruises on his face.
The medical examiner's office said Friday he died from multiple blunt force injuries and ruled his death a homicide.
Messiah's godmother, Althea Johnson, told the New York Post he was a "happy-go-lucky little boy."
She said the couple has been together for under a year.
