A 4-year-old boy was found dead inside a home in Harlem, and his mother was being questioned by police as the medical examiner looks for a cause of death, according to sources.

The child was discovered unconscious and unresponsive by police on Sunday just before 8 p.m. at a home on Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Boulevard.

According to police, the child was taken to Harlem Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Sources say the boy's father called 911 when he found the child unresponsive in the 6th floor apartment.

Paramedics found the child unconscious, but kept him alive, rushing him to the hospital, which is about 10 blocks away. Sources say doctors and staff did everything they could to keep him alive, but he was pronounced dead this morning around 5:50 a.m.

The identity of the child is being withheld pending notification.
