Will the July 4 fireworks be a washout?

It's looking like it'll be a nice night to watch the fireworks this year, despite the scattered storms and showers that dominated much of the morning and afternoon. FOX 5 New York's Nick Gregory takes a look.

The threat of severe weather is possible again Tuesday across the tri-state area, bringing the potential of torrential rain and strong thunderstorms.

Storm impacts

  • Scattered showers and strong storms are possible.
  • Rain could become heavy at times.

Storm timing

  • The line of showers and storms is expected to enter the tri-state area this afternoon.
  • The wet weather should stop around the time for fireworks.
  • The Wednesday morning commute should be dry.
